1. Who is SunCore?
SunCore is a fabless, light-charging technology company located in the Spectrum Technology Zone in Irvine, California and founded in 2004. Our mission is to create true mobility by disconnecting people from the main power grids and harnessing the power of light to charge electronic devices, from cell phones to tablets to larger scale products with automotive and municipal applications.
2. How do your products work?
SunCore’s technology is a unique composite of our proprietary photovoltaic (PV) panels working in conjunction with our charge-management system (CMS) to convert light energy into usable energy for electronic devices. Our panels use more of the light spectrum, absorbing infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) wavelengths, which allow them to work in shade or overcast conditions, as well as indoors in artificial light. This, combined with our CMS, a patented design utilizing a microcontroller to efficiently manage the charge throughout the circuit, provides maximum charging power for the device. 3. What makes SunCore’s light-charging products different than the many other solar products on the market?
First and foremost, our products actually work! Due to patented designs, our products utilize many different types of light, making it effective indoors and outdoors, and thus providing more charging power to the device than other available solar products. We do not believe in “trickle” charging; so, all of our products deliver 2-3 times greater power than others we had tested. Also, our products are scalable, easily integrated into larger products and adaptable to many different form factors, allowing applications in commercial, municipal and military markets.
